LD Communication Champion

I work with Easy Read.  I have had training to go through a document to make sure each section is understood, making sure that difficult words are explained and that pictures help understanding.

I have been to CPF (Carmarthen People First) to discuss further Easy Read and I have talked to Barod to see what they do. While there they showed me how to put documents and leaflets together, and how to find pictures for them.

CPF then showed me how to put together a leaflet using inprint software.

I am working with the Dream Team, which is a group of people from different organisations including people who have Learning Disabilities, to discuss accessibility.  We had discussions about the LD Charter which when ready will have a poster encouraging people to sign up for the Charter.

I have been to a couple centres to get their views on what they want regarding

Where they live

Out of these talks it was clear they were fearful of losing the Centre.

They love the centre and want it to stay open.
