Dementia Friendly Classic Movie Matinee at Theatr Gwuan
Theatr Gwuan in Fishguard is showing a dementria friendly matinee designed for people living with dementia.
This is a subtly-adapted, relaxed screenings designed for people with a range of conditions such as dementia, autism, learning disabilities etc, their friends and carers.
This shows differences compared to a cinema trip:
- Theatre lighting will be left on low
- Lower film volume
- Hearing Loop and headphones are available
- There will be a comfort break interval during the screening
- Free Tea/Coffee and a slice of cake and biscuits
- No trailers, no adverts
- The audience are free to move about during the screening
- Patrons can sing along to songs in musical numbers
Volunteers trained by the Alzheimer’s Society will be on hand to help the audience settle in and throughout the performance.
